Foundational skills program
Includes: 6 Private In-Home Sessions-one session per week, Your Treat Pouch Kit, and Q&A with your trainer via messenger between sessions if needed.
*Best For: Welcoming a new dog into your home or building a complete training foundation.
*The Focus: This information-packed, comprehensive program includes all the essential cues-like sit, down, stay, wait, leave it, come when called, and leash walking-but then goes well beyond the basic manners to focus on your dog’s overall impulse control and daily household lifestyle for reliable real-world results.
What We Will Cover:
*Focus & Connection: Eye Contact, Voluntary Check-Ins, Nose Targeting, and the "Ready?" and “Let’s go” signals.
*‘The Three D’s (Distance, Duration, Distraction) Teaching you how to split skills into tiny, achievable steps so you are setting up your dog and yourself for success every time!
*Stationary Positions: Sit, Down, and Stand.
*Impulse Control: Stay, Wait, and Leave It.
*Real-World Safety: Recall and Leash Walking
*’Fading The Lure”: "Learn how to smoothly fade food lures so your dog listens without seeing a treat first. This skill teaches you how to transition to real-world rewards—like open doors, “Go Sniff”, and play—so your dog stays motivated anytime, anywhere."
*The ‘reset button’ (“Find It!”)
*How dog’s learn and how to read their body language.
*How to polish your timing of rewards for ensuring clarity and success while learning.
*Understanding what the ‘hierarchy of rewards’ means and how to use it to “proof” the real-world skills around distractions.
*Cooperative Care and Handling: Preparing the dog for everyday tasks like harness and collar handling, wiping paws, vet visits, nail trims, etc…
How It Works:
*This all-inclusive package guides you through the entire learning process over six weekly sessions. I start by introducing each skill in a quiet environment, gradually adding distance and duration. As your dog shows readiness, I will begin introducing real-world distractions to build success.
⚠️Important Success Factors:
Daily Commitment: Success requires 5 to 7 minutes of daily practice between our sessions to lock in the behaviors. I will be available via messenger to answer questions that may arise during your independent practice times, but you are responsible for committing to this learning process with your dog.
Behavioral Needs: Severe reactivity, anxiety, or aggression may require additional specialized sessions beyond this foundational package.
Individual Pace: All dogs, especially puppies and adolescent dogs, may progress at different rates based on their age and attention span.
Program Cost: $625.00 (Save $185)
